Community Guidelines
Last updated: 29 April 2026
JustVybe exists to bring local communities together. These guidelines set out what is and is not acceptable on the platform. They apply to all content — posts, events, listings, comments, messages, profile information, and images. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or a permanent ban. Serious violations will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
1. Be respectful
Treat other members the way you'd like to be treated. Disagreements happen, but personal attacks, harassment, and bullying are never acceptable.
- Do not target, intimidate, or send unsolicited hostile messages to other users.
- Do not post content that demeans, mocks, or dehumanises individuals or groups based on protected characteristics (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, nationality, or other characteristics protected under the Equality Act 2010 or equivalent laws).
- Do not make threats of violence, even in jest.
- Do not engage in coordinated pile-ons, mass-reporting for malicious purposes, or organised harassment campaigns.
2. Keep it real
JustVybe is a local, authentic community — misinformation and fake content undermine that.
- Do not impersonate another person, celebrity, business, or organisation.
- Do not post deliberately false or misleading information about real events, people, or businesses.
- Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent bans, game features, inflate review scores, or manipulate platform rankings.
- Business listings and reviews must reflect genuine, first-hand experiences. Fake reviews — whether positive (for your own business) or negative (about a competitor) — are prohibited.
- Clearly label AI-generated or substantially AI-assisted content. Do not present AI-generated images or text as your own original creative work without disclosure.
3. Keep it legal
- Do not post content that is illegal under UK law, including content that constitutes harassment, hate speech (under the Public Order Act 1986 and Online Safety Act 2023), incitement to violence, or criminal threats.
- Do not share content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights. If you use AI tools to generate content, ensure you have the necessary rights to publish it.
- Do not offer, solicit, or facilitate illegal goods or services — including controlled drugs, counterfeit items, unlicensed weapons, stolen goods, or unlicensed financial services.
- Do not share another person's private information without their consent (doxxing), including home addresses, phone numbers, financial details, or immigration status.
- Do not engage in money laundering, fraud, phishing, or any other financial crime through the platform.
4. Keep it appropriate
- Do not post sexually explicit content. JustVybe is accessible to users aged 13 and over.
- Do not post graphic violence, gore, or content designed to shock or distress.
- Content relating to self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide must follow safe messaging guidelines (refer to Samaritans' media guidelines). If in doubt, do not post it.
- Do not post content that exploits, endangers, sexualises, or facilitates grooming of minors. Such content will be removed immediately and reported to the National Crime Agency (NCA), CEOP, and/or relevant US authorities (NCMEC) as appropriate.
5. Keep it relevant
- Vibes, posts, and events should relate to local life, communities, culture, or experiences.
- Spam — including repetitive posts, chain messages, and unsolicited promotional messages — is not allowed.
- Commercial promotion is permitted in appropriate contexts (business pages, service listings, classifieds). Unsolicited advertising in the community feed, other members' inboxes, or event comment sections is not.
- Fundraising and charity appeals must be genuine and transparent about where funds go.
- Do not post affiliate or referral links except in designated contexts (e.g. your profile or listings, where disclosed).
6. Protect privacy
- Do not share another person's phone number, address, location, financial details, or other personal information without their explicit permission.
- Photos and videos of identifiable individuals should only be posted where you have their consent, or where it is clearly in the public interest (e.g. a photograph from a public community event).
- Do not screenshot or republish private direct messages without the other person's permission.
- Be thoughtful about posting images of children — obtain parental or guardian consent where required.
7. Platform integrity
- Do not attempt to scrape, mine, or extract data from JustVybe by automated means.
- Do not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems.
- Do not interfere with the proper working of the platform, including by flooding it with requests.
- Do not use bots or automated scripts to interact with the platform, post content, or create accounts without our written permission.
8. Online Safety Act 2023
JustVybe complies with applicable duties under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. This includes operating a transparent and accessible reporting system, publishing clear community guidelines, taking prompt action on illegal content, and protecting users — particularly children and vulnerable adults — from harm. We also take steps to prevent the spread of priority illegal content as defined by the Act.
9. Reporting and enforcement
If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please use the Report button on the relevant post or profile. You can also contact us via "Report a problem" in the footer or email support@justvybe.space.
We review all reports and take action where appropriate. We aim to review reported content within 24–48 hours, with priority given to reports involving child safety, threats of violence, and other urgent harms. Actions may include:
- Removing the content.
- Issuing a warning.
- Temporarily suspending the account.
- Permanently banning the account.
- Reporting to law enforcement or safeguarding authorities where legally required or appropriate.
Appeals. If you believe your content was removed or your account suspended in error, you may appeal by emailing support@justvybe.space with "Appeal" in the subject line. Include your username and a description of the content or action you are appealing. We aim to respond to appeals within 7 days.
We do not tolerate malicious or false reports. Repeated misuse of the reporting system may itself result in enforcement action.
10. Changes
We may update these guidelines as the platform and legal landscape evolve. Continued use of JustVybe after updated guidelines are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines. Material changes will be notified via the platform.
