How JustVybe Auctions work

🇬🇧 UK residents only

JustVybe Auctions is open to UK residents only. Sellers must have a UK address and connect a UK Stripe account to receive payments. Buyers must be based in the UK and agree to collection or delivery within the UK. Listings must relate to items located in the United Kingdom.

Who can buy and sell

  • You must have a verified JustVybe account to place a bid.
  • Sellers must connect a Stripe account before listing. Stripe carries out identity and bank verification as part of their onboarding process.
  • You cannot bid on your own listings.

Listings

  • The minimum starting price is £5.00.
  • Auctions run for 1, 3, 7, or 14 days from the moment they are listed.
  • You may edit or cancel a listing only while it has zero bids. Once bidding starts the listing is locked.
  • Listings must accurately describe the item — condition, defects, and any important details must be disclosed upfront.

Prohibited items

The following may not be listed under any circumstances. This list is not exhaustive — anything illegal under UK law is automatically prohibited.

  • Weapons & dangerous items — firearms, ammunition, explosives, offensive weapons (including knives with a blade over 3 inches), tasers, and any item requiring a firearms certificate or licence
  • Controlled drugs & substances — Class A, B, or C drugs; novel psychoactive substances; drug paraphernalia intended for illegal use
  • Stolen goods — items you do not own or do not have the right to sell
  • Counterfeit & fake goods — items bearing trademarks, logos, or branding they are not authorised to carry
  • Prescription medicines — any medication that requires a prescription under UK law
  • Tobacco & vaping products — cigarettes, loose tobacco, e-cigarettes, vape liquids, or any nicotine product
  • Alcohol — wine, beer, spirits, or any alcoholic beverage (sale without a licence is illegal)
  • Live animals — pets, livestock, birds, fish, insects, or any living creature
  • Endangered species & wildlife products — ivory, certain skins and furs, live or dead protected species, and anything regulated under CITES or the Wildlife & Countryside Act
  • Recalled or unsafe products — items subject to a product safety recall or that do not meet UK/CE safety standards
  • Hazardous materials — flammable, corrosive, radioactive, or toxic substances not safely packaged and legally postable
  • Personal data — databases, mailing lists, account credentials, or any data protected under UK GDPR
  • Adult & explicit content — pornographic material of any kind
  • Items infringing intellectual property — pirated software, bootleg recordings, unauthorised copies of copyrighted works
  • Currency & financial instruments — counterfeit notes or coins, unregulated financial products

See our Community Guidelines for further detail. Listings that violate these rules will be removed and the seller's account may be suspended or reported to the relevant authorities.

Bidding

  • Each new bid must be at least 50p higher than the current highest bid.
  • Sniper protection: if a bid is placed in the last 5 minutes of an auction, the end time is automatically extended by 5 minutes. This gives all bidders a fair chance to respond.
  • Bids are binding. Placing a bid is a commitment to purchase at that price if you win.
  • Retracting a bid is not permitted once placed.

Winning & payment

  • The highest bidder at the end of the auction wins.
  • The winner is notified by email and in-app notification with a link to complete payment.
  • Payment must be made promptly via the secure Stripe Checkout link provided. Failure to pay may result in the listing being relisted and your account reviewed.
  • Payment goes directly to the seller's Stripe account. JustVybe charges a 10% platform fee on the winning bid (minimum 50p).

Collection & delivery

  • Sellers must specify whether the item is collection only, postage available, or both.
  • Any postage cost is agreed between buyer and seller after payment. Where postage is offered, sellers must dispatch within a reasonable timeframe.
  • For collection-only items, buyer and seller arrange a safe meeting place. JustVybe recommends a public location.

Disputes & buyer protection

  • If an item is significantly not as described, buyers can raise a dispute with their card issuer (chargeback). JustVybe does not arbitrate disputes but will provide transaction records on request.
  • Buyers and sellers are encouraged to resolve issues directly through in-app messaging first.
  • Fraudulent listings, shill bidding, and bid manipulation are strictly prohibited and will result in account termination and referral to the relevant authorities.

Platform role

JustVybe acts as a venue connecting buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction and do not hold buyer funds. Payments are processed directly by Stripe. By using JustVybe Auctions you agree to our Terms of Service.
